US Veterans Foundation’s focus is to establish a community presence through Service oriented programs that benefit the Military community, as well as benefiting our general communities as a whole by making sure our Veterans are Mentally fit, and well equipped with all the tools needed to make them very productive members of our Communities and great Community Leaders. Our key objectives are to address the epidemic rate of 22+ Veterans per day who take their own lives, and to show them there are people who care and other avenues in which provide great opportunities for them. We must Fight For Their Lives so that these Veterans may live the quality of life and have the dignity that they have each fought to defend.
US Veterans Foundation was formally established in September of 2014. We are an up and coming Veteran organization that is registered in Illinois as a “not for profit” organization and classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) Public Charity. We are locally headquartered in Alton, IL, founded and operated by Veterans, and dedicated to help our returning Military transition to the civilian world. Our mission is to provide support to our Veteran Community through Outdoor Adventures, Service Dog resources, and Moral Based Events. The organization is open to ALL currently serving US Military, Active Duty, Guard and Reserve; US Military Veterans; and all those who wish to support the Veteran community. The founding members of US Veterans Foundation are Military Veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, Desert Storm era and Vietnam era. Our growing numbers are heavily made up of Veterans who served in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. We as a group are dedicated to stand with members of our Military, and our Veteran community as a whole.
We are involved in campaigns to raise money to bring about change for the better of our Veteran community. Often times our returning Veterans face challenges unfamiliar to the civilian world. Working through camaraderie assists with the re-integration into the civilian world; identifying opportunities through networking with other Veterans and their professional contacts; and provides the opportunity for mentoring of our younger Vets by those of us who have already been through the transition. The Outdoors side of our organization will be therapeutic and give them a sense of accomplishment as well as camaraderie. There is a belief shared within the organization that every Veteran who has honorably served deserves the future opportunities and dignity that they themselves have fought to defend. We want to help those Veterans realize these opportunities.
We are working to build a network with other Veteran organizations who share our goals: Getting Veterans Outdoors, and putting on Events that bring Veterans together providing camaraderie; but most importantly, to change to the stigma that Veterans are some how “Broken” or “Dysfunctional. We at the US Veterans Foundation have adopted the motto “One Team, One Fight.” Our goal is to help Veterans truly come home and to realize we are one team, and one family. Help us reach that goal by joining us and Liking us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter or by making a donation no matter how big or small.
